Jordan Whitlam

PGCE Secondary Education Student

Jordan graduated from the University of Hull in 2016 with a BSc (Hons) degree in Sport and Exercise Science. During his time at the University, he completed some voluntary experiences with both Hull FC and a special needs School in order expand his awareness of the variety of learner demands and face different classroom challenges.

Following completion of his degree, Jordan enrolled onto a Schools Direct programme with Wolds Teaching School Alliance which works in partnership with The University of Hull to provide in-the-field teacher trainer opportunities. As part of this course, Jordan has worked in two local schools as a full-time teacher while also attending university to complete the academic aspect of the PGCE.

Whilst still undertaking his PGCE Jordan has already secured a full-time position for September 2017 at an East Riding Secondary school. Jordan will be jointly presenting a seminar with Sophie Benstead to explain the realities of teaching training. They’re keen to share with you what they wished they’d know when they were undergraduates so come along and ask any questions you have.
