Demi-Lee Easter; Alumni Speaker – Opening Address
P.E. Teacher, Hornsea School and Language College

Demi graduated from the University of Hull in 2017 with a BSc (Hons) in Sport and Exercise Science. Throughout her time at the university, she was able to successfully complete work placements and balanced working at KC stadium and David Lloyd Gym. After undergoing an ACL reconstruction in her second year at university she decided to explore the impact injuries have on athletes and for her dissertation wrote a systematic review based on ‘The impact of psychological techniques used during an injury rehabilitation programme’.
She has since completed a SCITT programme gaining Qualified Teacher Status and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education at the University of Hull. The SCITT programme consisted of 3 School placements alongside weekly informal and formal observations, 6 assignments based on the pedagogy of teaching and a portfolio of evidence. All assessments were based on ensuring that all teaching standards were met and student progress was evident within her lessons.
In September 2018, Demi started her first full time job as a PE teacher at Hornsea School and Language College, and she is working vigorously to motivate and guide the next generation of students. Her aim is to ensure all students are provided with equal opportunities and the skills necessary to become independent, responsible and resilient young adults.
